Kyoto University’s Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (iCeMS) is offering a research experience opportunity for undergraduate students who aspire to enter graduate school at Kyoto University and who are interested in exploring the intersection of life and matter or creating new materials inspired by life’s phenomena. We invite applications as follows.

Participants are not allowed to contact the laboratory they wish to work at to discuss their research prior to receiving a notification of acceptance.

1. Qualifications and conditions for application

Students who meet the following qualifications and conditions are invited to apply.

  1. Students who are enrolled in a foreign university (a university outside Japan).
  2. Students must plan to complete at least two semesters of undergraduate study after completing the program.
  3. Students who are interested in pursuing graduate school at Kyoto University as members of an iCeMS laboratory.

3. Time period (length of internship)

The program will run June 30, 2026 – August 6, 2026.

However the arrival date will be June 29, 2026, and the departure date will be August 7, 2026.
