About Confidentiality

機密保持について

The content discussed during consultations will not be disclosed to anyone else without your agreement. If you agree, we will share the information within the iCeMS D&I Desk, but it will not be shared anywhere else.

However, in cases where there is a realistic possibility of self-harm or harm to others, the minimum necessary information may be shared with relevant parties within the minimum necessary scope to protect the consultee and related individuals. Additionally, if the safety of the research and educational environment is threatened, if there is a risk of violating the law, or if there is no immediate danger to life but there is a significant negative impact on the individual or those around them, and it is deemed necessary and socially justified for the healthy operation of a research institution, and beneficial for the consultee, then the minimum necessary information may be shared with relevant internal departments for that purpose.

If the consultee is also receiving support from other support services at Kyoto University (such as the Harassment Consultation Service and the Student Support Center), to provide more effective support, information sharing with these services may occur. In such cases, information sharing will be conducted only with professionals involved in support, within the minimum necessary scope, and will not be disclosed outside.

If the consultee explicitly permits, information within the scope of their permission may be shared with relevant faculty and staff.
